Offered Here is a vintage 12" Tall Japanese Tanuki Shigaraki Ware Pottery Raccoon Dog Statue Figurine.
These statues are said to bring good luck and good fortune to the owners and wear a hat to protect from trouble and accidents. The purse represents good luck and good fortune and the sake jug represents not having to worry about food or drink.
This Tanuki stands 12" tall and is approx. 7" wide at the hat and 6" deep and weighs a little over 5 pounds.
The Tanuki has a hand crafted textured surface and is partially glazed. The raccoon dog has a very detailed face. The purse has an impressed seal with hand painted characters as pictured. The sake jug is also hand painted and glazed.
This statues is in excellent all original condition with no chips or damage.
